As of March/April 2021, located inside a newly opened building called Summer Point, with the bar entrance facing Sukhumvit Soi 69, opposite the Phrakhanong Post Office Building.
From Prakhanong BTS Station, take Exit 3 toward the North and East. Because of the escalator rising from the East, you must descend Exit 3 toward the West. Upon reaching street level, circle to the right by 180 degrees, and walk straight ahead about 100 meters, toward the Post Office. It is best to step up from the public sidewalk onto a slightly raised sidewalk that extends from the ground floor of the Summer Point building. Just before you reach Sukhumvit Soi 69, turn left to keep the building on your immedite left, and proceed about 30 meters to the first open doorway entrance into the buiulding – and you will efectively be entering the Wishbeer Home Bar.
The bar entrance is located about 30 meters into the soi on the left side, as you enter off Sukhumvit.
The bar entrance opens right into the main bar room. On your right is a doorway into the venue’s kitchen, and then a row of four large double-wide beer coolers, containing approximately 120 bottled and canned beers.
If you then rotate your view to the side of the room opposite ther bar entrance, you will see the main bar, which has raised stools (seats) on the side toward the bar entrance, with a total of 15 craft beer taps cresting the bar – on tap all the time.
In front of the coolers, a service person will normally approach -and you can either name or point to what you want – or you can actually reach in and pull out the bottle or can that you want, and hand it to the sever. The sever will then go ring your purchase up, and bring you the bottle, with its matching serving glass, and let you pour your own beer. Later you can simply order another of the same beer by simply pointing out the bottle at your table to a service person.
The room contains many tables and chairs – able to seat almost 100 people.
The bar area is clean and comfortable – but it is basically just a large open room. The ceilings are perhaps 6 meters high – making the place very airy and open. Well air-conditioned.
Because of the large and dispersed seating area, it is pretty hard to come here alone, and strike up a conversation with strangers. This is a great place for a group beer call. The service staff is fairly stable, and they take especially good care of frequent repeat customers
For toilets, you must exit the bar entrance, and immediately turn left, and then proceed about ten meters to the main doorway into the Summerpoint Building. Upon entering, look to your right, and you will see a side hallway, with toilet signs indicating what is down the hallway. The facilities are somewhat limited for a large bar. What follows is a photo of the bar entrance, taken from nera the center of the main bar room.
There are no video screens – this is a place for conversation, not for watching TV.
There is no parking on site – but parking is potentially available along Soi 69.
This has been a short, incomplete, and somewhat crude posting – but I wanted to get updated info into the website. I will improve this posting during the coming weeks.
