The Fat Cow

765 Ladphrao Road, Lad Phrao, Chompon, Bangkok, 10900

Open daily, noon to 11:00 pm

Exit Ladprao MRT Station using Exit 3.  When you reach street level, turn right, crossing Soi 17 and continuing straight ahead for 100 meters.  When you reach Soi 15, The Fat Cow will be facing you, right at the corner of the intersection.

Cozy little bar, clean and welcoming.   It can seat about 26 people., with three “high” four-person tables, two “low” four-person tables, plus seating for four guests at the bar. They also have two  extra low chairs.

Mixture of Thais and foreign expats.   Seems to be mostly a place for locals to hang out.

Six taps – serving imported Thai expatriate, and perhaps some Thai artisanal beers.

One cooler at the back of the shop – perhaps 25 different beers – most of which are Thai artisanal beers, with some imported Thai expatriate beers.

Very friendly place. The owners greet you, and try to make you feel at home.  The owner is Manuel from the Netherlands, often assisted by Khun Sai.

No bar snacks, but they have a full kitchen.  They offer a very good cheeseburger.   They also have an excellent beef filet steak, served already sliced, with black pepper sauce, 520 baht, including French fries.

Easy-listening pop music, played at subdued level.

No video screens here.

No smoking in the bar.   There are several chairs out in front of the bar entrance, enabling smokers to closely study the traffic patterns at the intersection.

One toilet, under the stairs, accessed through a curtain that hangs at left rear corner of the bar.  Simple and clean.
