This bar and restaurant is located on Soi Ari 1, which runs pretty much parallel to Phahonyothin Road, and maybe 100 meters from that road. To get to O’glee, take the Skytrain to Ari BTS Station, then head for Exit 3. At the end of the Skywalk ramp at Exit 3, you can only go left – to your right, an “up” escalator is delivering incoming travelers. Descend to street level, then double-back to your right, and walk maybe 60 meters to where a road (Phahanyothin Soi 7) cuts in from the left. Take a left onto that intersecting road, and walk another 30 meters, and then take another left, onto Soi Ari 1.
Walk about 200 meters down the soi – you will pass a large red-brick condo on your right – named (appropriately enough!) “Noble Red” and then, on your right under a cluster of shading trees, you will find O’Glee, which has a cheerful green front facade:
In the following photo, you can see the “Noble Red” condo at right. Beyond the ivy hedge in front of the condo, you then see a gold-colored building with trees in front of it. O’Glee’s entrance is under those trees:
Once you enter, you have the bar on your right:
and you will have the dining area on your left, filling up the rest of the space:
At the far left rear of the dining area is a large chalk board, with a listing of the draft beers currently available:
O’glee has eight rotating taps – a description of the the current offerings is always posted at the top of their Facebook page timeline, like this:
They mostly offer imported foreign craft beers, with an occasional imported Thai expatriate beer. Their taps:
They also have a cooler in the right rear of the room, with perhaps 60 bottled craft beers available.
More so than most bars, this bar is picky about what it offers – their selections are largely from near the top of my favorites list. You may see their current listing of draft beers on tap at Current Draft Beers on Tap at O’glee
The dining area can seat roughly 35 people, with maybe another five seats available at the bar. But – anytime they get more than about 30 people in the place, things get tight.
There are two video screens – on above the bar, and another one on the opposite wall, overlooking the dining area. They are both almost always showing sports, with the sound turned off. Easy listening Thai and western pop music is played at a subdued level – conversation is easy.
The bar is owned and operated by Khun Peace, who is a delightful and cheerful hostess to her guests. She speaks English well, the service staff – not so much. But menus and notices are all in English. Clientele is typically 70% Thai, 30% foreign.
O’glee has no dedicated parking, but parking is allowed on Soi Ari 1. This bar is located only about 350 meters from Ari BTS, so – driving here is not critical.
They have a serious kitchen here, enabling them to serve a full menu of both Thai and western dishes – and the food here is quite good, and reasonably priced.
At center rear of the room is an alcove leading to the toilets, which are very clean and well-maintained.
This is a fun, friendly bar.
