This bar at the corner of Thonglor and Thonglor Soi 16 is the original venue of what is now a chain of six House of Beers outlets in Bangkok. It was first established in 2008, by Thai entrepreneur Chris Foo.The
The bar is on the ground floor of a three-story shopping mall that occupies the northeast corner of the Thonglor Soi 16 intersection, approximately 1.4 km north of Sukhumvit Road. It is next door to She Bar, a well-known entertainment spot.
This bar has 12 beers on tap – but only two or three beers are typically craft beers – the rest are mass market beers. Brewdog Punk IPA is normally an anchor offering here. They also have perhaps 90 bottled craft beers on hand.
This bar tends to focus heavily on Belgian beers – of which they carry a good selection.
The bar can seat about 40 customers inside, and maybe another 30 customers outside, in front of the bar. Smoking is only allowed if seated outside.
There is a full kitchen here, with a menu of mostly western food, see the menu at https://www.houseofbeers.com/food_menu.php
Off-street parking is available in a parking lot immediately in front of the bar.
The bar has no toilets of its own – toilets are common to the mall occupants. Exiting the bar turn right, and go to the end of the walkway – the toilets are simple, but are clean and well-maintained. Here is the walkway to the toilets:
There is one video screen inside the bar, and another video screen outside the bar. Sound is usually turned off, with easy-listening Thai and western pop music played at a subdued level.
