Craft is the premier draft craft beer venue in Thailand. They offer 40 draft craft beers on tap, and maybe another 49 to 50 craft beers in bottles. This bar has sister venue located on Silom Road, down near the Chao Phraya river.
Craft on Sukhumvit Soi 23 is co-located with an outdoor wine bar, with an indoor premium whiskey and cigar lounge called Whisgars, and with an indoor restaurant called Kitchen 23.
This bar started out back around 2014, as just a small, “pop up” bar, located out in front of the Giusto Italian restaurant, and featuring just eight draft craft beers – and roughly that same number of seats at the bar, for customers:
They have come a long way since those early days:
They have four large display screens above the tap area which display the 40 different craft beers that they offer on tap, with screens alternating every 15 seconds or so between lists of beers by tap number, with ten beer listed per screen, and promotional screens for various beers or ciders that they offer.
They also have a beer “menu” booklet, with a descriptive panel about the size of a typical beer bottle label for each beer:

This bar is located on Sukhumvot Soi 23, about 350 meters north of Sukhumvit Road, in the southeast corner of the first intersection that you come to, traveling north on Soi 23. It is located diagonally across the intersection from The Clubhouse Sports Bar & Grill, and is located about 120 meters north of Scruffy Murphy’s pub.
Approaching the bar from Sukhumvit during daytime, what you see is:
This bar serves “pints” of about 450 ml, and all prices are “++” – making this perhaps the most expensive craft beer bar in Thailand. Beware the “++” pricing, which adds about 18% to your bill.
The venue can probably seat close to 100 people. Although outdoors, they have many fans in operation to help cool things off, and the surrounding trees help contribute to the ambiance. Furnishings are rustic – cable spools serve as tables – but everything here seems to fit together quite well.
Craft is run by Randy Tinsley, who shifted into craft beer after leaving the go-go bar business – for many years, he had been running Goldfingers, in Patpong.
The clientele here is upper-crust Thais, and foreign ex-pats. It is generally a very informal and friendly place, although the general sprawl of the place can make it hard for a newcomer to connect with the veteran customers This is is great place for networking.
There is one video screen back in a corner to the far left of the service bar, as you face it. This is usually tuned to a sporting event.
Music here consists of a house playlist of American rock songs, played a modest level, sometimes replaced by a DJ, playing more recent international pop music. And – occasionally, a live band performs.
The food here s excellent, albeit a bit pricey. Patrons are free to smoke cigarettes or cigars. Dogs are welcome here.
Toilets are inside the adjacent building – quite deep into the building. Very clean well-maintained. To reach the toilets, go to the right of the beer garden as you face it from Soi 23, and enter the building through a swinging glass door. You have to walk down a long hallway toward the rear of the building, and turn right at the end of the hallway, into the toilet alcove, where they have separate toilets for men and women. While in the hallway, you will know that you are on the right track when you see this sign, stenciled onto the left wall, at about knee level:
There is a small parking lot here, but parking is very limited. Parking my be available in the parking lot of Prasarnmit Plaza, about 250 meters north of the bar.
