Code Craft is a ground floor, single shop-house wide bar located about 900 meters due west of TaoPoon MRT Station. To get to the bar, travel via MRT to Tao Poon station, and exit using Exit 2. As you reach street level, double back around 180 degrees to your right and walk 20 meters to a big intersection. To your right will be a full motorcycle parking lot:
Skirt around the left of this parking area, and you will be on the sidewalk, traveling west along Pracha Rat Sai 2 Road. Continue straight ahead for about 800 meters, until you come to the entrance road into Bangpo General Hospital:
That entrance road is called Soi Delybell:
From this sign, you continue walking straight ahead 100 more meters, and Code Craft will be on your right:
The same shop frontage from another angle:
Bar hours of operation are displayed on the front door, but THIS INFORMATION IS INCORRECT!!! Bar is actually open daily, only from 6:00 pm until midnight.
Upon entering the bar, which is lit with a violet colored hue, you will see the bar with eight draft beer taps at the rear:
To the left of the bar is the tap list, on a chalkboard:
Against the left wall is beer cooler full of bottles and cans – with about 55 different offerings:
They had quite a good selection of top brands, including: Ballast Point, Bavaria, Behemoth, Belching Beaver, Brewdog, Brussels Beer Project, Deschutes, Evil Twin, Founders, Holgate, La Trappe, Melvin, Nomad, Stone, and about 25 different imported Thai expatriate beers.
They have a food menu, offering pretty much typical bar snacks:
Here is the view from the bar, looking back toward to front of the room:
The venue can seat about 30 persons.
They normally play a Spotify playlist of international pop music, at modest background volume – but they do have live music on Tuesday and Friday nights – a guitarist, who also sings – starting around 9:00 pm.
There is one video screen, from which they display content from various sources.
Visitors can park along the street outside. Smoking is not permitted inside the bar, and there are no provisions to set smokers outside the bar.
Separate men’s and women’s toilets are located in rear area, accessed by door off to the far left of the bar as you face it:
The toilets are spacious and clean. There is one pleasant bar server there who speaks excellent English – Khun Ing-fa – who also provides the live music as the performer on Tuesdays. She indicated that bar clientele was upwards of 90% Thais, with just occasional foreigners stopping in.
I will note that by 2020, a new MRT Blue Line station will open just 100 meters west of Code Craft, with one exit stairway descending to the sidewalk just 50 meters from the bar. This station – which is called the Bangpo Station, is already complete. The following photo was taken from the sidewalk about 30 meters west of the bar.
