This is a sister bar to the original Brew Beers & Ciders at SeenSpace on Thonglor Soi 13. It is built into the street-side portion of the bottom two floors of the Holiday Inn Express at the northern end of Sukhumvit Soi 11, near the point where Soi 11 splits left and right, about 600 meters from Sukhumvit Road. It is perhaps a 15-minute walk from Nana BTS Station.
From that BTS Station, take Exit 3 down to street level, and continue straight ahead for 20 meters to Sukhumvit Soi 11. Turn left onto Soi 11, and walk north for 600 meters. You will be walking a gauntlet of literally dozens of bars, restaurants, hotels, and various other distractions.
You will eventually come to a slightly misaligned “T” intersection, with a Holiday Inn Express on the opposite side of the street, in southeastern corner of the intersection:
The light-colored section at street level in the above graphic is Brew Beers & Ciders, Sukhumvit Soi 11 Branch. For a closer look, their diorama:
The bar has three areas. The main ground floor room, which has the tap area, can only seat about 16 people. There is an upstairs area that can seat about 18:
On the ground level, there is also a very narrow open air courtyard, accessed by a glass side door from the main room. There are tables with seats out there for maybe 24 persons, and this is the only area where smoking is permitted.
This courtyard is also the route to the toilets – which you reach by turning right as you step into the courtyard, and walking about 15 meters, then enter a doorway to your left. The toilets are actually the toilets of the hotel lobby and coffee shop on the ground floor of the hotel. The toilet area is pretty compact, but is also spotless.
The bar in the main room has ten rotating taps – of which maybe half are craft beers, with the rest being mass-market beers such as Erdinger, Hoegaarden, Stella, Lefe, and Guinness. Brewdog Punk IPA is a staple beer here.
In coolers behind the bar are perhaps 60 different bottled beers, half of which are craft beers, and the rest of which are mass-market beers.
Modern music, moderate level, I cannot recall there being any video screens.
Off-street parking is available in a parking lot on the opposite side of Soi 11, juts down from the bar.
One treat here is that just outside the entrance to Brew Beers & Ciders is the new home of one of Bangkok’s best hamburger vendors – Daniel Thaiger:
My personal favorite is the Steve burger:
You may order from, and eat your burger inside Brew Beers & Cider.
I have to say – on my one visit to this bar – between about 5:30 pm and 7:00 pm – I was the only one that I observed who was drinking craft beer. Everyone else was drinking low-end, mass-market lager beers.
The clientele here appears to be young, relatively low-life foreigners – some of whom come in with obvious bar-girls in tow. Somehow, the place seemed slightky run down, and a bit depressing.
