Witch Craft is the new craft beer bar that has been added as an expansion to the Bad Burger restaurant:
Bad Burger is located just off the Sukhumvit sidewalk on the south side of the road, in a sub-soi just west of Sukhumvit Soi 20. To get to this venue, travel via BTS to Asoke BTS Station, and head toward Exit 6, which means taht you will crossing completely across – and above – the Asoke-Sukhumvit intersection. At the end of the Skywalk, turn right toward Exchange Tower, and the right again, down the stairway to street level. Here is a view of the stairway you will be descending:
At the bottom of the stairway, double-back around 180 degrees to your left, and proceed east along the Sukhumvit sidewalk. After 100 meters, you will cross Sukhumvit Soi 18 – and you should continue walking for another 90 meters. You will see Soi 20 up ahead (blue arrow), but about 25 meters before reaching Soi 20, you will see a small soi on your right, with Bad Burger sign at the soi entrance (red arrow from that sign to the alleyway):
The entrance to Bad Burger id about 15 meters into the soi, on the left:
Once you pass through the entrance-way indicated by the red arrow above, you have two choices: there is a lift (elevator) entrance at the rear of the alcove, or you can take a fairly steep stairway – to the second floor :
At the top of the stairs is the elevator/lift landing, and the entrance-way to the venue:
Note that both credit cards, and Bitcoin are accepted for payment.
Upon entering, you are in a large dining area with the open kitchen to the left rear, and th bar to your right. The wall on the right displays the logos:
The bar with draft beer taps and overhead beer menu is at right rear:
The presently have eight taps, but they appear to have plans to add at least two additional taps.
The current beers on tap may be found at Witch Craft Beers on Tap
There is also one beer cooler cabinet, containing some Thai mass-market beers (Singha, Heineken), Beer Lao, some soft drinks, some Brothers Ciders, and a few bottles of imported Thai craft beer:
As you enter, the left side of the room is separated off by a raised rail area, which overlooks a beer pong competition area:
On the far wall, behind the beer pong table, are doors that lead out to a balcony, for smokers. The doors are labelled: “Cancer Area”.
There is a popular burger kitchen here, which has been on-site much longer than the craft beer taproom. You may see the food menu at Bad Burger Food Menu. On this visit, I ordered the beef brisket. What arrived was rather strange – there were a couple of un-sliced “chunks” of brisket, but there were also four thick strips of some other type of rather rubbery meat – not very tasty. I would not recommend the brisket here – you are better off sticking with the burgers.
There is no video screen here. The music was somewhat “new age,” played at moderate level.
The main dining room has two tables for 12 persons, one table for eight persons, two tables for four persons, and one table for two. There are also four seats at the bar and six seats along the rail that overlooks the beer pong area. There are also six seats along the rail within the beer pong area.
There is a toilet area to the left side of the beer pong area, as you overlook it:
It has a hand-washing alcove, and then a knotted-rope entrance into a short passage with two toilet “stalls”. All is clean and well-maintained – but not spacious.
Parking is available nearby, along Sukhumvit Soi 20.
Clientele appeared to be mostly westerners, and everyone appeared to be visiting for the food – I saw no one just drinking. Pricing is NET – no VAT, and no service charges added.
